Summary[]
It's the hottest summer Salmonberry Pond has had in years, and the land is being terrorized by an insane heron who calls himself Deathbeak. Seemingly nowhere is safe except underground, the pond level is down more than usual, and the inhabitants do not have enough able-bodied warriors to rid the area of Deathbeak. Their only chance rests in the paws of Never, a young mouse who arrives at the pond, trying to forget his tragic past, only to find himself facing it again to help his new friends.
